To me this book was much more true Kristen Painter's Nocturne Falls than earlier ones I read as part of "The Universe" collection. A bit more could have been done to flesh out Luka and Penelope but overall it was a good Vampire meets Medium romantic story. Laurie London did a great job of keeping the town of Nocturne Falls fairly true and to keep it in the story , rather than ignore it after the first couple of lines.( though there was a mistake in Julian's family name) In this a young Medium, sees her first ghost who leaves her a magical object which she must protect until the "Others" come to collect it. They are a"good-guy" secret organization that keeps the powerful object and others like it from causing problems. Of course where there are good guys there are also bad, and apparently some of those are Vampires, who very much want the object. The love story, the background of the main characters, and a knitting shop in Nocturne Falls are woven around those seeking to obtain the object and to harm Penelope. A good read and pretty fast.Product details

This is a cute little story with a medium, Penelope, and a vampire, Luke. Penelope sees her first ghost and he gives her a job to protect a valuable and dangerous item. Penelope goes to visit her aunt in a town full of supernatural beings and magical folks, so the item will be safe. While in the town, she meets Luke and they fall in love.
love this series.. funny and really makes u want to go to Nocturne falls lol.. in this one she is a waitress who sees ghost and he gives her something to keep safe till the others come to pick it up so she heads home to nocturne falls and meets a sexy vampire. really cute book
This addition to the Nocturne Falls Universe was wonderful. When I began reading them I wasn't aware it was being done by different artists. So I was surprised at how similar the writing style was to Ms Painter's. It was a pleasure to read this installment.
Nocturne Falls Universe is an excellent series. Nocturne Falls is the place to live if you are a paranormal. Penelope travels to Nocturne Falls to stay with her Aunt temporarily because she is in danger. Once there she meets Luka a vampire. Luka and Penelope date and he does his best to keep her safe. This was a great story. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by the author Laurie London.
This was a very fun short read that filled an afternoon. It is set in the Nocturne Falls Universe. Laurie London did an excellent job of keeping the feel of Kristen Painter's Nocturne Falls. I enjoyed reading about the different characters, both good and bad. This was just a fun addition to the Nocturne Falls stories.
What happens when you mix together a powerful object in need of protection, a ghost, a medium, a knitting shop that is losing customers and a dashing vampire who lost a bet? The result made for a pretty good read. There was some humor, mystery, romance and suspense. Overall, I thought the author did a good job of integrating into the Nocturne Falls world as created by Kristen Painter. Despite that, it was not my favorite of the Nocturne Falls Universe stories, which explains the 4-star rating.
This is my first book by Laurie London, and I am anxious for more! This story takes place in the Nocturne Falls Universe. A medium, Penelope discovers her ‘gift’ at the most inconvenient time. Running away to save her life, she ends up in Nocturne Falls. Her Aunt Sylvia is a hoot, my favorite older family member in Nocturne Falls next to Birdie. Luka, a vampire in Nocturne Falls, is a straight forward guy who is interested in Penelope as soon as he meets her. This couple is so cute, especially as Penelope is portrayed as a cute, sweet, smart woman, and not the typical female character type portrayed in romance novels. It was a refreshing change. I couldn’t put this fast paced book down and finished it in 2 days. Enjoy!
